Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime receives Android 9 Pie update with One UI

Image
Samsung has today started rolling out the update to Android 9 Pie for the Galaxy On7 Prime smartphones sold in India. The On7 Prime was launched in the subcontinent back in January of 2018, but it's actually known elsewhere as the Galaxy J7 Prime, and was first released in September 2016. As such, it's an incredibly surprising thing for Samsung to update this budget phone to Pie, since it came to the market with Marshmallow. Anyway, the update is arriving over-the-air as a 1GB download, and it includes the May 2019 security patch level - just to add to the amazingness of this entire... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles http://bit.ly/2J9N2yG via IFTTT

Redmi flagship will have an in-display fingerprint sensor, great battery life

Image
A lot of phones leak, so some companies have recently started to compete with those by drip feeding us official information about upcoming devices. Redmi GM Lu Weibing, for example, is very active on Chinese social network Weibo, and has already confirmed a few key details about the brand's first ever flagship handset. Today is no different, and in keeping with its other top of the line specs, the Redmi flagship will also come with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Additionally, Lu Weibing said the phone will get great battery life, but hasn't actually confirmed a capacity for the cell.... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles http://bit.ly/2YnzvHB via IFTTT

Xiaomi Mi 9 SE gets Moon mode in latest MIUI update

Image
For some odd reason taking pictures of the moon with a smartphone is a thing. Huawei was the first to start this moon race with the P30 Pro and Xiaomi was quick on its heels by adding the feature to its flagship Mi 9. After pondering with moon photography with the flagship Mi 9, it seems the more affordable Mi 9 SE is next in line for a dedicated moon mode with the latest MIUI update. If you wanna test out the feature, you'll need to head over the camera app on your Mi 9 or Mi 9 SE and slide to the AI mode. Then adjust the zoom to 4x and you should see a Moon mode toggle appear.... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles http://bit.ly/2Lw6hEw via IFTTT

Xiaomi teases a triple camera smartphone for India

Image
Xiaomi just teased a new phone with a triple-camera setup on its Indian community forum. The image shows single, dual and triple cameras but it would be strange if Xiaomi is even mentioning the latter option if it's not the one it's releasing. Nothing else has been disclosed in the forum post, but we have our suspicion of some of the specs. Going by the the report from yesterday, which claims that Xiaomi is readying three smartphones with Snapdragon 7XX, this one could be the so-called Pyxis. Pompeo briefs Iraqi leaders on U.S. security concerns over Iran

Image
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made an unannounced visit to Baghdad on Tuesday and met with Iraq's prime minister and other top officials to discuss the safety of Americans in Iraq and explain U.S. security concerns amid rising Iranian activity. The visit came two days after U.S. national security adviser John Bolton said the United States was deploying the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and a bomber task force to the region because of a "credible threat by Iranian regime forces." The concern about a threat from Iranian forces comes after Washington has ramped up sanctions on Tehran over its nuclear program in recent months and designated the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist group. "We talked to them about the importance of Iraq ensuring that it's able to adequately protect Americans in their country," Pompeo told reporters after meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi. from Yahoo News - Latest News & Headlines h

U.S. House panel accuses Barr of contempt as Trump invokes executive privilege

Image
Throwing down another challenge to Trump, the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee voted to recommend that the full House cite Barr, the top U.S. law enforcement official and a Trump appointee, for contempt of Congress after he defied its subpoena for the complete report and underlying evidence. "We are now in a constitutional crisis," Jerrold Nadler, the committee's Democratic chairman, told reporters after the panel approved the contempt resolution on a party-line 24-16 vote, with Democrats in favor and Republicans opposed. The vote came hours after the White House took its own provocative step, asserting executive privilege to block the release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's full report on Russian actions to boost Trump's candidacy in the 2016 U.S. election and related evidence such as investigative interviews. from Yahoo News - Latest News & Headlines https://yhoo.it/2Lye2dg via Latest News

Held in contempt: what does House committee's vote mean for William Barr?

Image
Vote further intensifies the conflict between the Trump administration and the legislative branch of the US government House judiciary committee Democrats voted to hold William Barr in contempt of Congress. Photograph: Nicholas Kamm/AFP/Getty Images Democrats on the House judiciary committee voted on Wednesday to hold the attorney general, William Barr, in contempt of Congress, intensifying the conflict between Donald Trump’s administration and the legislative branch of the US government. The move by Democrats comes as Barr refuses to share with Congress the full unredacted version of Robert Mueller’s report on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. But the immediate ramifications of the vote were largely symbolic – and unlikely to change the fraught negotiations over the special counsel’s report or Barr’s fate as attorney general. What does it mean to be held in contempt of Congress? Last week, the House judiciary committee chairman, Jerrold Nadler, called on Barr to
