SM-R500 is the model number of this device, which is widely considered to be the Samsung Galaxy Sport, not to be confused with the Gear Sport. The device was codenamed "Pulse" and is rumored to be the first Samsung wearable to support Bixby Reminders before ultimately upgrading the Galaxy Watch with Bixby support. The invite that says "The time has come" and mentions "Redmi Smartphone Launch", and seeing how the newly created sub-brand only has one phone it's all obvious. Apple abruptly revokes Google's enterprise certificate

Image
Apple offers enterprise certificates to large companies like Google and Facebook for the purpose of distributing apps internally, amongst the companys' employees that facilitate their jobs. One of the rules of this certificate is that enterprises should not use it to distribute apps to consumers. Both Google and Facebook were identified as companies doing this and while Facebook's certificate was revoked yesterday (and has very recently been reinstated), Apple pulled the rug under Google today when it did the same thing. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro accused President Donald Trump of hiring the local mafia to assassinate him in an interview with a Russia state-run news agency. “Donald Trump has without doubt given an order to kill me and has told the government of Colombia and the Colombian mafia to kill me,” Mr Maduro told RIA news agency on Wednesday, Reuters reported. Girl's wild frozen hair shows the power of the polar vortex

Alright, Mother Nature, you've done your thing -- and we're all very impressed -- but this is getting out of hand.  In recent days, extremely cold temperatures have caused everything from 2,600 flight delays to the halting of U.S. postal service delivery (and they never stop for anything). But if there's anything we can learn from cold Midwesterners, it's that this polar vortex doesn't need to be a polar snorefest.  Iowa native @taylor_scallon showed the power of negative temps when she shared a video of herself  outside with a very interesting hairstyle. She managed to get her hair to defy gravity and freeze straight up when she went outside with wet hair.   SEE ALSO: Bored Midwesterners are throwing boiling water into the frigid wind during the polar vortex While it might be fun to make yourself look like a Who from Whoville, it's important to remember that these temps are no joke. Tesla Model X owner caught sleeping on the highway with Autopilot turned on

A wild, if not disturbing, video that originally surfaced on Jalopnik shows a Tesla Model X owner taking a full-on snooze while his car drives down the highway. Tesla's Autopilot feature is of course activated but it's clearly not designed to let people fall asleep at the wheel. If anything, the Tesla driver in the video is so relaxed that he's not even at the wheel; he's full-on reclining. The Model X in question was reportedly on a highway headed to Las Vegas and thankfully didn't get into any type of serious crash. Indeed, there have been cases where Tesla vehicles on Autopilot get into serious crashes even with a fully alert and attentive driver. Tesla, to its credit, began implementing safety measures around its Autopilot feature in response to Tesla owners abusing the feature in downright dangerous ways. In one widely circulated video that has since been removed from YouTube, a Model S owner a few years ago turned on Autopilot and actually went into the backse

Exclusive: Foxconn reconsidering plans to make LCD panels at Wisconsin plant

Image
Announced at a White House ceremony in 2017, the 20-million square foot campus marked the largest greenfield investment by a foreign-based company in U.S. history and was praised by President Donald Trump as proof of his ability to revive American manufacturing. Foxconn, which received controversial state and local incentives for the project, initially planned to manufacture advanced large screen displays for TVs and other consumer and professional products at the facility, which is under construction. Now, those plans may be scaled back or even shelved, Louis Woo, special assistant to Foxconn Chief Executive Terry Gou, told Reuters. from Yahoo News - Latest News & Headlines https://yhoo.it/2Gj2QwG via Latest News

Huawei's founder faces fight for company and family

Image
Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei survived food shortages during China's Cultural Revolution, but now the reclusive billionaire identified as "Individual-1" in a US indictment faces an existential fight for his family and company. Ren, 74, founded Huawei in 1987 with just 21,000 yuan ($5,600) and watched it grow into a global behemoth with 180,000 employees operating in 170 countries, sales of 206 million smartphones last year, and revenue topping $100 billion. The accusations dealt a blow to Huawei's image just as the famously secretive company had mounted a media blitz to salvage its reputation, with Ren leading the charge to dispute espionage concerns. from Yahoo News - Latest News & Headlines https://yhoo.it/2BbXekM via Latest News

Mueller says Russians are altering evidence from special counsel’s investigation to discredit the probe

Image
Russians have obtained evidence from special counsel Robert Mueller’s inquiry into Moscow’s interference in US politics and altered it in a bid to discredit the probe, federal prosecutors have claimed. The files were shared with attorneys working for Concord Management and Consulting, a Russian company that allegedly funded hacking operations by Russia’s Internet Research Agency (IRA), they said in a court filing. The sharing evidence and documents between prosecutors and defence lawyer as part of routine discovery is common legal practice. from Yahoo News - Latest News & Headlines https://yhoo.it/2FZnfYs via Latest News

Kamala Harris, Running Scared

Image
Announcing a run for the presidency should have been enough for Kamala Harris. In a bid for a party that sees itself as the vanguard of a more racially diverse and progressive future, she comes from the vanguard state leading America there – California. It may seem silly in retrospect, but in 2007 and 2008, liberals and conservatives both questioned whether Barack Obama’s white mother and his upbringing in Hawaii so removed him from the experience of most African-American voters that they would not accept him. from Yahoo News - Latest News & Headlines https://yhoo.it/2RrsB01 via Latest News

Bankrupted by deadly wildfires, PG&E vows to keep the lights on

(This Jan 29 story has been corrected in paragraph 10 to remove reference to top creditors, which erroneously included banks that act as trustees on bond indentures with no direct credit exposure) By Subrat Patnaik (Reuters) - Utility owner PG&E Corp filed for bankruptcy protection on Tuesday in anticipation of liabilities from California wildfires, including a catastrophic 2018 blaze that killed 86 people. PG&E, which provides electricity and natural gas to 16 million customers in northern and central California and employs 24,000 people, vowed to keep the lights on as it grapples with fire-related costs it estimates at more than $30 billion. The San Francisco-based owner of the biggest U.S. power utility warned in November it could face significant liability in excess of its insurance coverage if its equipment was found to have caused the Camp Fire that destroyed Paradise, California, last year. from Yahoo News - Latest News & Headlines https://yhoo.it/2HIld0s via La

China slowdown weighs on revenue growth at internet giant Alibaba

Image
Internet giant Alibaba saw its revenue growth slow in the final three months of last year, in quarterly results likely to stir up concerns over the weaker China market, recently signalled to by US tech giants.  Alibaba saw net income jump 33pc to 30.96bn yuan (£3.5bn) in the three months to the end of December, and revenue rose 41pc to 117.28bn yuan. However, shares dipped in New York trading, down 1.3pc, as investors took the results as a sign growth was waning, given Alibaba's revenue had grown more than 50pc for the 10 consecutive quarters prior to the most recent results.  The 41pc growth announced on Wednesday was the weakest Alibaba had recorded in three years.  The results follow a warning from Alibaba president Michael Evans earlier this month that China had "slowed down". Speaking at an event in New York, Mr Evans had said it was a market that "required patience", adding that there were some "troubling headwinds".  Last week, China posted figu

Arctic air sends temperatures well below zero in midwest US

Image
A brutal cold wave moved eastward Thursday after bringing temperatures in the US Midwest lower than those in Antarctica, grounding flights, closing schools and businesses and raising fears of hypothermia. Mail deliveries were suspended and people were encouraged to stay home in nearly a dozen US states where the mercury plunged into the negative double digits, the worst freeze to grip the region in a generation. The phenomenon stemming from a blast of Arctic air caused surreal scenes throughout the region, such as steam rising off the waters of Lake Michigan -- the result of extremely cold air passing over warmer water below. from Yahoo News - Latest News & Headlines https://yhoo.it/2WvGb6b via Latest News

Brazilian anger unabated by Vale vows after dam disaster

Image
"Too Late" read newspaper Estado de Minas in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, after Vale, the world's largest iron ore miner, said it would take up to 10 percent of its production offline and spend 5 billion reais ($1.36 billion) to decommission 10 dams like the one that collapsed at its Corrego do Feijao mine last Friday. With 110 people confirmed dead and another 238 missing, according to firefighters' count on Thursday evening, the tailings dam collapse in the town of Brumadinho may be Brazil's deadliest-ever mine disaster. In recent days, Vale has vowed to keep paying taxes on the paralyzed mine and donate 100,000 reais to the family of each victim. from Yahoo News - Latest News & Headlines https://yhoo.it/2MHn30u via Latest News
