The Democratic Party Just Dissed and All but Disappeared Stacey Abrams

Image
Tom Perez and the DNC have got some nerve to sit Stacey Abams at the head of the kid’s table, burying one of the most impressive, accomplished and recognizable Black women in America at the end of a so-called “keynote” video that used local leaders to highlight the party’s supposed diversity without giving those leaders any real time to actually present themselves, and that aired at 9 PM on Tuesday — an hour before the networks start airing the convention. Sure, the party wants to highlight the ones to watch in the years ahead. Many of the local leaders many Americans saw — “met” would be too strong a word for the 5 to 15 second cuts from pol to pol, like a nerdier version of the celebrity “Imagine” video  — for the first time tonight will hopefully go on to truly lead the Democratic party and push it forward on progressive issues that should be the foundation of our democratic and Democratic future. But leaving Abrams two minutes at the end of this montage wasn’t a way t...

Brazil's Guedes slams Senate overturning presidential veto on public sector pay rise

Image
Brazil's Economy Minister Paulo Guedes called a Senate decision on Wednesday to overturn a presidential veto blocking public sector pay rises during the COVID-19 pandemic a "disaster" and a "crime" against the people. President Jair Bolsonaro's veto, barring pay rises for civil servants in return for disbursing 60 billion reais ($11 billion) of aid to states and local authorities, will now be voted on in the lower house on Thursday. Speaking to reporters in Brasilia, Guedes said overturning the veto could see local governments take funds away from health spending and channel them towards public sector salaries. from Yahoo News - Latest News & Headlines https://ift.tt/3l1hgDJ via Latest News

Image
Former President Bill Clinton explained in stark terms during night two of the Democratic National Convention how COVID-19 has devastated the United States.Clinton reminded viewers that when President Trump was asked earlier this month about the surge in COVID-19 deaths, he said, "It is what it is," but "did it have to be this way?" Clinton asked. "No. COVID hit us much harder than it had to. We have just four percent of the world's population, but 25 percent of the world's COVID cases. Our unemployment rate is more than twice as high as South Korea's, two-and-a-half times the United Kingdom's, more than three times Japan's. Donald Trump says we're leading the world — well, we are the only major industrial economy to have its unemployment rate tripled."The Oval Office should "be a command center," Clinton said, but under Trump, it's a "storm center. It's only chaos. Just one thing never changes: His determinat...

It seems this will change with the wider roll-out of Android 11 as Google will support any device running its latest OS and equipped with 5Ghz Wi-Fi connectivity according to its FAQ page. Note that EU availability will depend on local rules for using 5Ghz bands in cars.
