Sarah Sanders leaving White House job, returning to Arkansas

Image
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders, whose tenure was marked by a breakdown in regular press briefings and questions about the administration's credibility, as well as her own, will leave her post at the end of the month, President Donald Trump announced. Trump said Thursday he's encouraging her to run for governor when she returns home to Arkansas, where her father once held the job. Sanders is one of Trump's closest and most trusted White House aides and one of the few remaining who worked on his campaign, taking on the job of advocating for and defending a president who had his own unconventional ideas about how to conduct the people's business. from Yahoo News - Latest News & Headlines https://yhoo.it/2WIBogG via Latest News

Memphis riots: Chaos erupts after police shoot and kill 20-year-old black man Brandon Webber

Chaos erupted in a neighbourhood in Memphis, Tennessee after US Marshals shot and killed a young black man. Brandon Webber, 20, was getting into his car when US marshals approached and attempted to take him into custody. Webber was wanted on several felony warrants. When the marshals tried to make their arrest, “he reportedly rammed his vehicle into the officers’ vehicles multiple times before exiting with a weapon,” says the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. At that point, “The officers fired, striking and killing the individual.”No officers were injured in the altercation that ultimately lead to Webber’s death, however, as community members came out demanding answers and accountability, some members of the police force were hurt. What we know about the Gulf tanker attacks

Image
Suspected attacks left two tankers in flames in the Gulf of Oman on Thursday, bumping up oil prices and further raising regional tensions triggered by a bitter US-Iran standoff. The ships were struck in the same strategic sea lane where four oil vessels were sabotaged last month in attacks Washington blamed on Tehran. In the early hours of Thursday, two vessels transiting through the Strait of Hormuz towards the Indian Ocean caught fire. from Yahoo News - Latest News & Headlines https://yhoo.it/2X99jDs via Latest News

PetSmart's Chewy gets Wall Street tails wagging with $1 billion IPO

Image
Chewy Inc said on Thursday it priced its initial public offering at $22 per share, above its target, and sold more stock than originally planned, valuing the online pet products retailer at $8.77 billion. The IPO raises funds to help manage the debt load of parent company PetSmart, and indicates investor demand for a loss-making but fast-growing e-commerce company to tap into the roughly $70 billion U.S. pet industry market. Some 46.5 million Chewy shares were sold in the IPO, up from the anticipated 41.6 million as PetSmart sold more shares than originally planned. from Yahoo News - Latest News & Headlines https://yhoo.it/2IcJVEt via Latest News

Pompeo Claims Iran Is Responsible for Oil-Tanker Attacks

Image
The U.S. intelligence community has concluded that Iran is responsible for the oil-tanker attacks that occurred in the Strait of Hormuz Thursday morning, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said during a press conference hours after the attack. Two oil tankers were attacked within the space of 45 minutes in the Gulf of Oman, off of the coast of Iran, where four oil tankers were similarly attacked last month by Iranian forces.Addressing reporters at the State Department, Pompeo explained that the assessment of Iranian culpability was “based on intelligence, weapons used, the level of expertise needed to execute the operation, recent similar Iranian attacks on shipping, and the fact that no proxy group operating in the area has resources and proficiency to act with such a high degree of sophistication.”> BREAKING: Sec. Listening is much different than, let’s see, lying, spying, and paying for Russian lies a
