Turkey's foreign minister says allies should not intervene in its purchase of weapons: Hurriyet
Turkey's allies should not intervene with Ankara's purchase of defense systems from non-NATO countries because they have rejected proposals to purchase it from them, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu was quoted as saying on Wednesday. "These allies who sometimes create obstacles for us to purchase even simple weapons have started feeling uneasy after we bought S-400s," he was quoted as saying by Hurriyet newspaper. The U.S. State Department said on Tuesday that Washington has made clear to Turkey that if it proceeds with the purchase of Russian S-400 air defense system the United States will have to reassess Ankara's participation in the F-35 fighter program.
