Pelosi Promises ‘Bipartisan, Commonsense’ Gun Control after Calif. Mass Shooting

House minority leader Nancy Pelosi vowed to advance “bipartisan, commonsense” gun-control legislation on Thursday, hours after a gunman shot and killed twelve people at a bar in Southern California. “The American people deserve real action to end the daily epidemic of gun violence that is stealing the lives of our children on campuses, in places of worship and on our streets,” said Pelosi, who is expected to lead the Democrats’ newly secured majority as speaker. “House Democrats will fight to pass bipartisan, commonsense solutions to prevent gun violence in communities across the country,” she added.
