[Updated: not really] Sony confirms that the Xperia XZ3 is 5G ready

Update: Turns out the tweet was actually a mistake and it was since deleted. While Sony does plan to release 5G devices, the Xperia XZ3 has no equipment ready to handle the next gen networks. Move along then - nothing to see here. Sony has confirmed that the Xperia XZ3 is its first 5G smartphone and possibly the first 5G ready phone to come to market. 5G networks are still not in use but once up and running will provide up to 2Gbps of speed. Qualcom's current X20 modem inside the Snapdragon 845 doesn't offer 5G speed, but the upcoming X50 modem (along with the X24 modem) will enable 5G...
