Android distribution: Oreo climbs steadily, 9.0 Pie still nowhere to be seen

Even though Google skipped a few months of reporting the state of Android distribution, it's now back on track with the latest statistics for the end of August. The usual trend continues - most of the older Android versions are going down in numbers in contrast to the newer versions. Compared to last month, 8.0 and 8.1 Oreo have risen by more than two percentage points from 12.1% up to 14.6%, which is probably directly related to the newly sold Oreo-powered devices.
