Fitbit's support for Pebble smartwatches ends in June this year

Fitbit announced today that it will end its support for Pebble smartwatch ecosystem in June this year - June 30 to be specific. That's a six months extension, the company says, compared to the previously committed end-of-2017 time frame. While Pebble devices and mobile apps will continue working after June 30, several services will be retired, including Pebble appstore, Pebble forum, voice recognition features, SMS and email replies with iOS, timeline pins from third-party apps, and the CloudPebble development tool.
