Homelessness, up in 2017, doesn't take a break for ChristmasNew York City is experiencing its greatest homelessness crisis since the Great Depression, mostly in shelters. Homelessness has also been on the rise in major west-coast cities like Los Angeles. Those dedicated to fighting homelessness hope the outpouring of compassion around Christmastime will stick around into 2018.
