After a problematic first half for ZTE, the company and its subsidiary nubia finally launched the Z18 flagship earlier this month. The phone arrived with a new understanding of their borderless ideology with curved edges on the sides and a tiny waterdrop notch on the top. Two weeks after the unveiling the phone will finally be launched in the first flash sale at the Chinese online retailer JD.com. The price is between €350/$410 and €410/$480 for two of the color options in both memory combos. Initial tests show iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max have significantly better LTE speeds

Image
For the past year or so, a common theme has been that many high end Snapdragon devices performed with better LTE speeds when compared to what the iPhone X was able to put through. Today, speed test service SpeedSmart has released initial iPhone XS LTE speed tests compared to the 2017 iPhone X's and the difference is quite significant. The new iPhone XS and XS Max have a new modem that support 4X4 MIMO antennas for a stronger more stable connection. Google might release a pink Pixel 3

Image
Just last week, Google's Japanese site launched a "Coming soon" teaser page showing three possible color options for the Pixel 3. One white with mint accents, one mind-colored, and a black one with white accents. Well, according to a new discovery in the website's source code, a fourth color option could be plausible. Twitter user @CasVanDinter has found the code to contain another color scheme that isn't currently viewable. ZTE nubia Z18S shown on video with a second screen on its back

Image
The ZTE nubia Z18 was unveiled earlier this month with a 91.8% screen-to-body ratio - that's a lot of screen. But it's just one screen. If this video that shows the nubia Z18S is to be believed, a two-screen model is in the works. The second screen is on the rear and is much larger than what the Meizu Pro 7 had. It's large enough to run the full UI of the phone. The main benefit of that is that you can use the full camera app and get a huge viewfinder. As you may have noticed, there's no notch on the front display and, in fact, no selfie camera. Why bother when there's a capable dual... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/2PI1E7S via IFTTT

Analyst: People are buying the iPhone XS Max but not the XS, will buy XR the most

Image
Apple's opening weekend pre-orders for the iPhone XS, XS Max and Apple Watch Series 4 are now done and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has some insight as to what's hot and what's not. In a note to investors Kuo discloses that the reception for the iPhone XS Max was great, as expected, but the demand for the 5.8-inch iPhone XS is lower than previously projected. Kuo expects the iPhone XS Max to account for 25-30% of all new iPhone sales and has pushed back the iPhone XS to 10-15% share. Kuo expects the iPhone XR to grab 55-60% of the sales, once it gets to market in October. The iPhone XS... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/2D4LW50 via IFTTT

Huawei Mate 20 Pro case hints at in-display fingerprint reader, stereo speakers

Image
Cases for the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro show that the company may keep the 3.5mm headphone jack. The cases for both models seem to have a hole dedicated to it and it's not just that. Both have two holes on top - one presumably for a mic, the other most likely for an IR blaster (the P20 phones have IR). Huawei Mate 20 Pro case (alleged) The square camera hole is quite distinctive, but the Mate 20 case extends that hole as if to accommodate a fingerprint reader while the Mate 20 Pro case does not. It's not just that, the Pro case does not seem to have a cutout for a... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/2QD4JHt via IFTTT

Apple releases iOS 12, watchOS 5, and tvOS 12

Image
As expected, today is a big day for Apple in terms of software. It's officially releasing iOS 12, watchOS 5, and tvOS 12. After a few months in beta, iOS 12 is finally out for supported devices, going back all the way to the iPhone 5s from 2013. It comes with a strong focus on performance, especially in how that relates to older devices like the iPhone 6. In some cases, app launches could get up to 70% faster, with the keyboard appearing in half the time as before. Additionally, when there is a lot going across the system, apps can launch up to twice as fast. So this definitely... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/2pgIPgC via IFTTT

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro handled on video, still isn't official

Image
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is getting the Pixel treatment - a detailed video hands-on has been published before Xiaomi has officially unveiled the phone. The auto-generated English subtitles are not great, but one AnTuTu screen is worth a thousand words. The chipset is a Snapdragon 636, not 660 as earlier rumors suggested, and it runs MIUI based on Android 8.1 Oreo. It's not the faster chipset, but it's more of an endurance runner thanks to the 4,000mAh battery as seen on the box. The 6.26" screen has a 1,080 x 2,280px resolution and a notch.
