LG G7 ThinQ arrives in India on Flipkart

Image
LG G7 ThinQ debuted at the beginning of May but had to wait three months until it makes its way to India. The waiting is nearly over after Flipkart listed the device as an exclusive to the retailer with the hashtag #OnlyOnFlipkart. While we have a confirmation of the phone's arrival, there is no info on pricing or availability yet. Flipkart teases all the neat features LG implemented with the G7 ThinQ on its page. The phone comes with 6.1" FullVision display and QHD+ resolution on the front and a dual-camera setup on the back. While RAM is 4 GB and storage is 64 GB, there is also... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/2nf6BsB via IFTTT

LG announces the Q8 (2018) with 6.2" screen and stylus

Image
Back in May LG unveiled a trio of Q7 smartphones as a more affordable alternative of the G7 ThinQ. Today the company announced with a press release the unveiling of LG Q8 (2018) as the cheaper solution of the V35 ThinQ. The new Q8 (not to be confused with last year's Q8) has a huge 6.2" FullVision display and comes bundled with a built-in stylus. The chipset of the Q8 (2018) is the new 14 nm Snapdragon 450 that arrives with octa-core CPU at 1.8 GHz. Memory is 4/64 GB, but there is microSD for up to 2 TB storage (realistically, it can't go higher than 400 GB). LG keeps... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/2ObKLSg via IFTTT

The new devices of week 31

Image
It's not every week that we get to do a run-down of new phone releases. Rarer, still, is the list quite as long and complete with high end offerings, a premium tablet and with a bunch of different brands participating. Samsung introduced its 2018 flagship slate - the Galaxy Tab S4. It might be based on last-year's Snapdragon 835 chipset, but even so it's the most premium slate Android has to offer. Naturally, the star attraction is the gorgeous 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display of 2,560 x 1,600px resolution. There's a new, beefier and pretty comfy S Pen stylus, magnetic keyboard cover... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/2AKJL5G via IFTTT

Weekly poll: Motorola Moto Z3: hot or not?

Image
Motorola unveiled the Moto Z3 exclusively for Verizon, though we think the exclusivity will be short-lived. And we hope that once the phone breaks free from that one carrier it will keep its price tag - $480. Again, the price is $480. We had to repeat that to soften the blow of what comes next. How much did Moto-Lenovo do to design this phone anyway? It has the same body as the Moto Z3 Play, starting with the 6.01" Super AMOLED screen with 18:9 aspect ratio and ending with the back compatible with Moto Mods. Okay, okay, the Moto Z3 does have a much faster chipset. It's the same chipset... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/2vhiJha via IFTTT

Samsung Galaxy Note9: the story so far

Image
As per tradition, rumors started flying in as early as March this year. We were hearing all sorts of crazy stories including in-display fingerprint and a built-in breathalyzer for the S Pen. But as time passed by, the dust settled and we started seeing more reasonable and accurate information regarding the future Samsung flagship. Most fans will probably be disappointed to know that the Note9 won't be radically different from its predecessor, the Galaxy Note8. but there's a silver lining to it. This means that the Note9 won't be getting one of those pesky notches and the 3.5 mm audio... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/2naf54a via IFTTT

Top 10 trending phones of week 31

Image
It's been a while since last we had a BlackBerry phone among the 10 most popular in our database, but now we have two at the same time. The newly introduced Evolve and Evolve X make a flying start to take ninth and third, respectively. The Xiaomi Mi A2 retained its first spot, ahead of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, as the final member of last week's podium - the Nokia 6.1 Plus has dropped from the top 10 entirely and was replaced by the Evolve X. The Samsung Galaxy J8 stays fourth, while the Huawei nova 3i climbed a couple of spots to claim fifth. Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite is where we left it... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/2LQzBW6 via IFTTT

Sunday debate: Are phone cases necessary?

Image
Is there a case for phone cases? Paul, who's got the hump, and Yordan discuss. Paul: "Cases are like clothes" Over the years my views and uses of phone cases have evolved. Initially, when I started to drop serious amounts of cash on phones, my first and only thought was about protecting my investment from drops and its looks from those scratches that build up over time. In those early days I had some fugly clothes adorning my smartphones. I cringe when I think back to the yellow and black Defender "bumblebee" case from Otterbox that I had on my iPhone 3GS. Yes, it protected... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/2OdAYei via IFTTT

North Korea criticises US insistence on tough sanctions despite nuclear deal

Image
North Korea on Saturday said the US was acting with "alarming" impatience on the issue of denuclearisation, after Mike Pompeo, US Secretary of State, stressed the need to maintain full sanctions pressure on Pyongyang. The contrasting comments at a security forum in Singapore came after a UN report showed Pyongyang was continuing with its nuclear and missile programmes and evading sanctions through ship-to-ship oil transfers. At historic talks with Donald Trump, the US President, in June, Kim Jong-un, the North Korean dictator, signed up to a vague commitment to "denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula" - a far cry from long-standing US demands for complete, verifiable and irreversible disarmament. While US officials have publicly been optimistic about the agreement, Pyongyang appears to have made little substantial progress and Washington has become concerned that some UN member states are easing sanctions. At the ASEAN Regional Forum, Ri Yong Ho, North Korea's

The Carr fire, about 162 miles (261 km) north of Sacramento, claimed the life of a power company lineman Saturday, according to a CBS affiliate citing a spokesman for the PG&E Corporation. Neither a spokesman with the electric company nor fire officials were immediately available for comment. from Yahoo News - Latest News & Headlines https://ift.tt/2Od7kpo via Latest News

Thousands more evacuated from California's largest wildfire

(Reuters) - Thousands more mountain residents were evacuated from the path of California's biggest wildfire on Friday as fatigued firefighters battled gusting winds driving one of the state's worst fire seasons in a decade. The Mendocino Complex Fire grew to 157,450 acres (63,700 hectares) late Friday, about half the size of Los Angeles, forcing nearly 16,000 homeowners to flee a blaze that has destroyed 88 structures about 93 miles (150 km) north of San Francisco, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CalFire). Its size overtook the deadly Carr Fire, about 100 miles (160 km) to the northeast, which is among 17 major blazes burning in tinder-dry forests and woodland peppered with dead trees from the state's 2011-2017 drought. from Yahoo News - Latest News & Headlines https://ift.tt/2LWeUaH via Latest News
