A new Oppo A53 is coming soon, specs leak

Image
Mid-range smartphones definitely have a quick turnaround these days, so with that in mind it makes sense that Oppo is already working on the A53, which is intended to be the successor to the A52 that launched just a few months ago, in April. Weirdly enough the new A53 will share its name with a different Oppo phone that saw the light of day in 2015. Apparently the company thinks five years is enough time that no one would be confused by such a move. Anyway, today a purported list of specs of the new Oppo A53 has leaked, and you can see it above. The phone is said to sport a... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/3awX7Rf via IFTTT

Trump's Post Office meddling is plainly illegal

Image
On Thursday, President Trump flatly admitted he opposes aid to the Post Office because he wants to prevent mail-in voting. "They want three and a half billion dollars for the mail-in votes. Universal mail-in ballots. They want $25 billion, billion, for the Post Office. Now they need that money in order to make the Post Office work so it can take all of these millions and millions of ballots," he said on Fox News. "But if they don't get those two items that means you can't have universal mail-in voting because you they're not equipped to have it."There we have it, folks: Trump now openly admits he is sandbagging the Post Office to prevent Americans from voting by mail. Obstructing the ability to vote of the American people is a crime at the federal level and in every state. Not for the first time, the president has confessed to criminal acts on television. Now, Trump defenders will no doubt claim that the president is just trying to prevent voter fraud. Th

Black Portland reflects on role of white allies in movement

Image
More than two months of intense protests in Portland, Oregon — one of America's whitest major cities — have captured the world's attention and put a place that's less than 6% Black at the heart of the conversation about police brutality and systemic racism. Since May, nightly demonstrations in Oregon’s largest city have featured overwhelmingly white crowds — from middle-aged mothers marching arm in arm to the mayor getting tear-gassed by federal agents to teenagers dressed in black smashing police precinct windows and tossing fireworks at authorities. The weeks of often-chaotic protests have transformed Portland into a microcosm of the national debate on race and police brutality. from Yahoo News - Latest News & Headlines https://ift.tt/3iKQWMb via Latest News
