Oppo Reno will be announced on April 10 and it will have the 10x periscope camera, demoed at MWC 2019. The company released a promo video of how the phone was created and we can see it will indeed have huge zoom, impressive display with punchy colors, and a Snapdragon chipset. Check it out yourself. We expect to see the Oppo Reno in two versions, but there might be even three - one with 5G and Snapdragon 855, another with only the flagship Qualcomm chipset, and a third, more affordable option with Snapdragon 710. The front panel has no holes, according to the Oppo VP, so it is... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/2Tv49f7 via IFTTT

Week 12 in review: A bunch of new phones and tablets

Image
Week 12 was filled with new announcements - we counted 9 new phones and tablets and that's not even including the birth of a whole new brand - ROKiT. Apple, Samsung, vivo, Honor, Oppo and Xiaomi were the companies that brought new devices this week and while none of those were proper flagships, some might end up to be proper best sellers, delivering impressive value for money. Meanwhile, the P30 and P30 Pro leaked heavily this week - so much so that we are left wondering if there's anything left that we don't know about the duo yet. At least it's all going to stop next week as Huawei... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/2Yh5ABD via IFTTT

It wasn't all bad news for Xiaomi though, as the Redmi Note 7 climbed two spots to take the final step on the rostrum. After that we get two more Samsung phones from the opposite ends of the company lineup - the affordable Galaxy M30 placed just ahead of the high-flying Galaxy S10+. Two newly unveiled phones claimed places six and seven - the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 beating the Galaxy A40 as the best-placed... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/2TSIJgU via IFTTT

Counterclockwise: the rise of OLED smartphones and why it happened

Image
We're at a pivotal point in the history of mobile screens - OLEDs have finally matched LCDs. Looking at the user interest, OLED-packing phones have climbed up to equal LCD models and are set to surpass them very soon. Back in 2017, we looked at LCD vs. OLED for the first time, but then we simply counted the number of new models each year. This time around we took actual interest into account (by looking at interest in each phone on our site) because more popular and typically the ones that get better sales numbers. We still plotted the number of new models year (in yellow), but as you can... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/2U92UGO via IFTTT

Weekly poll: Are tablets still relevant?

Image
Did you hear? Apple updated its non-pro iPads. Perhaps the more important question is "do you care?". Looking at Apple's report for Q4 2018, it shows that the iPhone brings in 8x the revenue of iPads. The tablets also lag behind the Mac sales as well as the wearable and services division. In short, the iPad is one of the least profitable Apple products. The tablet market in general has been stagnating, Apple is better off than most companies. What's the last flagship Android tablet? The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 10.5 pops to mind, but while the high-res Super AMOLED screen is lovely, the... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/2U6lFun via IFTTT

After Mueller’s Exoneration of Trump, Full Disclosure

Image
The news that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has closed his investigation without recommending criminal charges against President Trump is a relief. It is not a surprise.Nor is it a surprise that the news has Trump antagonists clamoring for full disclosure of the special counsel’s final report. Mind you, when skeptics of the Trump-Russia investigation asked what the criminal predicate for it was, and on what basis the Obama administration had decided to monitor the opposition party’s presidential campaign, we were admonished about the wages of disclosure -- the compromise of precious defense secrets, of deep-cover intelligence sources and methods. Why, to ask for such information was to be an insurrectionist seeking to destroy the FBI, the Justice Department, and the rule of law itself. Now, though, it’s only the uncharged president of the United States at issue, so disclose away!Well, if we’re going to have disclosure, fine. But let’s have full disclosure: Mueller’s report in addition

Israel's commercial capital and outlying communities had last come under such an attack during the 2014 war with Gaza's dominant Hamas Islamists. The Magen David Adom ambulance service said it was treating six occupants of a home in Mishmeret, including an infant, for wounds. from Yahoo News - Latest News & Headlines https://ift.tt/2UUsLPO via Latest News
