Two weeks ago we heard rumors about Realme being the first company to bring a smartphone with Helio P70 chipset, and today we have the confirmation. Chinese media is reporting Madhav Sheth, the CEO of Realme, officially said the brand would launch products with the MediaTek SoC on the global scene. Nexus 6P and 5X get their last guaranteed OTA updates

With the latest November security patch, Google has fulfilled its guaranteed run of firmware updates for the Huawei-made Nexus 6P and the LG-made Nexus 5X. These phones were promised two years of Android updates and three years of security patches. This does mean that neither Nexus device will be getting Android Pie - their last guaranteed Android update was Android Oreo 8.1 as per Google's update policy. Verizon restructures its prepaid plans

Today, Verizon has announced some changes that its making to its prepaid tier of plans. Following the new plans on Metro by T-Mobile, Verizon is feeling the pressure to make its plans more competitive by cutting the cost and adding more value-added features to the prepaid service. For starters, Verizon's unlimited prepaid plan is now $65 with AutoPay (down from $75) and the $45 plan now has 8GB of high speed LTE instead of just 7GB. You can also add a Jetpack (Verizon's branded portable LTE hotspots) or LTE tablet just as you would add a smartphone. China smartphone SoC shipments will slow down in Q4 2018, research claims

According to the latest Digitimes research, smartphone AP shipments will continue to decline during this quarter with about 4.6% after the 13.9% gain in Q3 2018. Vendors appear to be feeling the trend and are giving lower order numbers. Some of the Chinese smartphone makers such as Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo and vivo are looking to expand their overseas shipments and the efforts so far have been largely successful, especially in Eastern Europe and India. Price of Realme 2 in India goes up by 5%, Realme C1's price increased by 14%

The Realme 2 and Realme C1 were announced at the end of August at INR 9,000 and INR 7,000 respectively. Those prices didn't last, however, they've been bumped up.
